What to know before pre-orders open.
My Self Key is a personal-safety keychain that pairs with your smartphone over Bluetooth. It brings together four protections: an SOS button that warns the people close to you, a 140 dB alarm to draw attention around you, an emergency QR code readable by whoever is helping you, and the Safe Cup, a cover that protects your drink.
You press the keychain button once. It reaches your phone over Bluetooth, even in a pocket or a bag, and the app sends the alert you set up in advance. Nothing to unlock, nothing to find, nothing to open.
Your trusted contacts all receive a text message at the same time, naming you, with a link to your location. The link opens in their browser and shows your position live. They need no account and no app.
Not yet. It is in development and will launch alongside the keychain. It is what you will use to register your trusted contacts, write your emergency card and set your alert preferences. Leave your email and we will let you know as soon as it is out.
Yes, for the connected features. The SOS button works through the My Self Key app, which runs on a subscription, monthly or yearly: it is what stores your trusted contacts and sends them the text message with your location. Three subscription plans are planned, from essential to family, and the number of contacts depends on the one you choose. The 140 dB alarm and the Safe Cup do not depend on any subscription or on any phone: they always work. Subscription pricing will be announced when pre-orders open, together with the price of the keychain.

Yes. Your personal information and your location are encrypted. Your location is only shared when you trigger an alert, for the duration you chose, and only with the contacts you registered.
No, and this matters. My Self Key warns the people close to you, not the emergency services. In danger, still call 17 or 112, 3919 for violence against women in France, and text 114 if you cannot speak. The keychain is a complement, never a substitute.
My Self Key was founded by Lea Bauchet, after a trauma that set everything in motion. The project was funded by an Ulule campaign that raised 28,000 euros from more than 500 backers, and over 700 people support it today.
